    @microserfs and what IP was that - clearly your current IPv6 address is not block that I show you connected with.. And the only other IPv4 I see you using is not blocked.. You would have to let me know what IP you were coming from that was blocked.. Send it to me via PM if you don't want to make it public.

    Name it "run.sh", copy to pf and chmod according documentation
    https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/development/boot-commands.html#shell-script-option
    You will see messages in the system log like those quoted in the script after logger command.

    If you specify it as:

    45 0 * * * /sbin/halt -p

    Then it should shut down at quarter to one in the morning.  That format works on a standard FreeBSD host.

    In this case, the power of the system is in its infinite configurability. I would venture to say there is really no "right" or "wrong" way to use pfSense.

    There is also no way for pfSense to know what your real intent is, especially when it comes to configuring packages (which is mainly what you're talking about, squid, squidguard, etc). I don't know about you, but to me what you're suggesting sounds a lot like "Clippy" of Microsoft Office infamy. It shouldn't really be pfSense's place to second guess what an administrator is trying to do, since that is really up to the administrator.

    The kinds of things you discuss are, as you hint at, things for the manual or book. There is a book in the works, and there is a lot of documentation on the Doc Wiki. Alternate scenarios and suggestions for better ways to accomplish a given task are wonderful to have there. That said, I wouldn't want them in the WebGUI trying to alter my behavior.

    hi everybody, i think i found a solution:
        >Go to the proxy content
        >In the default tab
        >Disable "not allow ip adress in the url"
        >Save Changes and apply

    i hope this help you with your problem

    hola a todos, creo que encontre la solucion:
      >Ir al proxy content
      >en la ficha de default
      >Desmarca "not allow ip adress in the url"
      >Guarda los cambios y aplicalos

    Espero que esto resuelva tu problema

    It would help if you provided details of your connection- DHCP, PPTP, etc.
    I've never had this problem with fifty+ boxes in the field, but most of the connections are business-class with static IPs.

    While it does not show bandwidth used, TCPView gets most of the other information about active connections:

    My idea is that you ask EBTables questions on the EBTables mailing lists ;)

    Seriously, you're asking about a Linux specific tool on a forum regarding a custom FreeBSD platform.  While you'll get some help, it's about as much sense as asking your optician for advice on stomach pains.

    The malware was very specific about the CPU architecture it targeted.  So not only wouldn't it have worked against pfSense because it's a different OS, but it wouldn't have worked because AFAIK pfSense doesn't run on that CPU ;)

    @Zash:

    Doubt it…
    Just tried the same torrent on a different network, and it had over 2000 seeders...

    Ok you didnt include in your original post that the torrent works on another network.
    Usually you can get the status of the swarm even if you cannot connect to it. (you dont have 0/0 seeds).

    Do you have a restrictive firewallset?
    Any entries in the firewall log?

    @jimp:

    If you connect as root it isn't locked into the menu. The admin login is the one locked into the menu. I haven't tried batch commands with ssh, but doing a one line "shutdown -p now", as the original poster in the thread did, does work.

    They did it like so :

    plink -ssh -pw passwd root@192.168.1.1 "/sbin/shutdown -h now"

    If I use putty to connect to the box and I log in as root, I still get the menu….no command prompt.  how can I remedy this?  it is a stock standard installation of pfsense....

    @pm26862:

    Is there any where that explains the content of each of the Destination ruleset's? Most are self explaintory such as porn. However what are  [blk_BL_adv]  and  [blk_BL_aggressive]?

    Thanks,
