from the console, if i do 4 to reset back to defaults. Reboot, then set my DHCP range after i set my lan ip. The range that actually gets set is different. ex:

      lan ip: 172.31.253.254 subnet: /24

dhcp? yes start ip: 172.31.253.20 stop ip: 172.31.253.106

what actually goes into the web interface is 172.31.253.10-245

      I tested with 192.168.7.10 192.168.7.200

in web interface stop is 192.168.7.245

used console to define dhcp not web interface

Resetting to factory defaults triggers the config wizard which will recalculate the IP-Adress range for IP-Adresses/subnets different from 192.168.1.1/24. I guess that is what happens. Did you run the configwizard after you did the reset or did you bypass it by clicking the pfSense logo at the welcome screen?

I tried reproducing this issue from the console and it worked as it should.
