Swisscom TV (IPTV)
-
I'm using pfsense 2.0 release and tried to setup swisscom TV (IPTV). The problem is now that the stream freeze every 10 seconds
I've done the following configurations:
IGMP Proxy
- LAN IF as downstream: 192.168.1.0/24
- WAN IF as upstream: 224.0.0.0/4, 195.186.0.0/16, 1.1.1.0/24 (I'm not sure if these IP's are correct, I took these IP's from http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=27155.0)
Firewall Rules
- Allow IGMP any to any on WAN IF (Advanced option "This allows packets with IP options to pass." turned on
- Allow IGMP any to any on LAN IF (Advanced option "This allows packets with IP options to pass." turned on
Can someone help me solving this problem please?

Hello Everyone,
You cannot setup Bluewin IPTV behind a firewall. Because you need Multicast on WAN.
The best way to use PfSense and Bluewin TV together :Plug your firewall WAN on your Swisscom LAN port
PfSense will get a private IP from Swisscom router
In Swisscom router you have an option in Expert Mode to setup "IP Transparence"
Setup this option for your firewall in the list
When you do this Swisscom router will setup your PfSense WAN port with your public IP via DHCP
Now you have Bluewin TV pluged in Swisscom Router and working and Pfsense with a public IP
Your WAN port should must be in DHCP mode
And plug all your network in PfSense LAN port and everything is working correctly.Regards

you CAN use pfsense + swisscom tv with any VDSL Modem. Use the Config:
- Allow IGMP any to any on WAN IF (Advanced option "This allows packets with IP options to pass." turned on
- Allow IGMP any to any on LAN IF (Advanced option "This allows packets with IP options to pass." turned on
PLUS:
http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/IGMP_Proxy
"You also need a firewall rule on the downstream side (typically LAN) that matches/passes this traffic which has the advanced option checked to allow packets with IP Options."
regards
