TP-LINK Switch Voice and Data VLAN anyone?
-
Hello,
I am trying to configure a TP-LINK sl3428 to have voice and data traffic over the same wire. It is very confusing because i do not know if do it using a trunk or how.
In cisco switches we do something like this
interface fastethernet 1/0
switchport mode access
switchport access vlan 10
switchport voice vlan 20Is there a similar way in TP-LINK switches? any help would be appreciated

Just create 2 vlans. Tagged (20 voice) Untagged (10) PVID 10. This should give u a default vlan of 10 on the given port and should allow your voip phone to use vlan 20.

Download the PDF manual. That switch has both web interface and console/telnet interface, commands are pretty similar to cisco's.

Should i create the Voice vlan itself or a regular vlan? Regards

Just 2 vlans would do. Voice vlan only get higher priority but that's only relevant if u max out internal connections.
We just got another switch at the office. Making vlans differs for those. But doing it using telnet is similar to cisco. (I created 120 vlans today).
Works great only some pages of the pfSense GUI are slow because we have 120 interfaces as well. -

So, I will create 2 vlans
VLAN 20 Tagged
VLAN 10 Untagged for the PVIDThe port will be a General port so it allowed me the two vlans, the rest is same :)
I appreciated your help Man!
