      Hi all :-)

      dsl<–->pfsense<--->lan1 and lan2
      lan1 is 192.168.10.0/24 (NIC1)
      lan2 is 192.168.20.0/24 (NIC2)

      I've a linux server on 192.168.20.0/24 with samba

      from lan1 with windoze (xp,7/8/10) I can ping either server IP and netbios name, I can also connecting use \ip\share BUT I can't see the server in network explorer :-/ it's draining...I make hundred of proofs...

      Is there a way to "see" samba server on network explorer?

      PS: network explorer is windoze file manager, exaclty I don't remember the name :-/

      thanks for help!

      Pol

        What does it matter?  Do you not know this machines fqdn or its IP?  The network browser in windows is junk, has always been junk and serves no purpose other than noise and nonsense..  The master browser for windows network neighborhood stuff across segments would require wins and setup of master browsers in each segment to register with the wins, etc.

        If you have stupid users that can ot connect via \fqdn or \ipaddress map a drive for them ;)

            And what games are these?

            Well setup your master browser in each segment to register its stuff in your wins server..  This stuff is like circa 1990 with windows for workgroups ;)  Google network neighborhood across subnets..
