Bridging 2 LAN ports
-
Hello,
I have been trying to set up an interface bridge between 2 LAN ports to act like a switch, so I don't need different subnets and/or firewall rules for them.
The question is, how do I do it?
I have read many tutorials, but most of them were for the old interface, so I couldn't use them, and when I followed the newer ones, I didn't get an IP assigned by the DHCP server on either of the LAN ports.
The reason why I can't use a switch is because one of the ports is a regular RJ-45 ethernet port, but the other is an SFP+ port with a directly connected client, and I need the RJ-45 for the rest of the devices.
I'd appreciate any help.By the way, the setup is running in Hyper-V, but that's configured correctly, becuase I can set up either the RJ-45 or SFP+ port as the LAN interface, and they work flawlessly.
Thank you

If your pfsense is on hyper-v what would be the point of creating multiple interfaces on pfsense that your just going to bridge?? Makes zero sense!

Then how would you do it? I'm open to suggestions, so if you know a better way to do it, then please share it with me.
For some reason Windows's interface bridges refuse to work with virtual adapters, and they don't really want to work with physical interfaces either, (can't copy files from shared folders) so that's why I want to do it in pfSense.
