DHCP Reservations not working
-
Hi All,
I'm having a weird issue with PFSense. I'm migrating from 10.0.0.0/24 to VLANs and smaller subnets with a 10.1.1.65/26 for my servers. The computers are obeying the DHCP reservations on the 10.0.0.0/24 but they are not obeying the reservations set on the new subnet with DHCP. I've set the pool size to be 10.1.1.100-126 and have reservations from 10.1.1.66-99, but whenever I set a reservation (IE 10.1.1.68) the device gets an IP of 10.1.1.70+ (most recently I attempted to configure one for 68 and it got 73).
Is there anything that you can suggest?
Thank you in advance,

Huh?? Your saying you have a pool size of 100-126, and you set a reservation for .68, but your client gets a .73?
Yeah no! Not the way it works..
If the client has an OLD lease it will request that, you need to make sure you clear up any old leases that a client might ask for. You need to make sure your not running an other dhcp server on your network that might hand out addresses.
So if client had an old lease of .73, just because you set a reservation .68 does not mean he is not going to ASK for his old lease to be renewed.. So if the dhcp server has that lease then sure it will let him renew it..
