DNS Resolver unbound more log output possible?
-
hello, while i use the DNS Resolver unbound on the latest _p1 release,
i have an custom option:
Unbound custom options
private-domain: "test.com"
local-zone: "test.com" redirect
local-data: "test.com A 192.168.0.1"log-queries: yes
and verbose level 5, but all i can see in the logs are:
Dec 17 14:59:58 unbound 42186:0 info: 192.168.10.25 test.com. AAAA IN
Dec 17 14:59:58 unbound 42186:0 info: 192.168.10.25 test.com. A INis the any way to get more output ?

what else do you want? It logged the query, says that 192.168.10.25 asked for test.com A record, and he asked for AAAA record. That is exactly what that config says to do, log the queries..

id like to see a output somelike "no data" or similiar like https://www.unbound.net/documentation/libunbound-tutorial-3.html
:-)

That is a script that does a query and then parses the results for the end user.. using the API Into unbound.. That is completely different then what unbound logs, etc.. If you set verb to 5, you will see it lots of info from it resolving something. But your test.com is a local entry.. What exactly should it log about that? That is looked it up from its local file?

if it possible a log output of 0 (zero) bytes has been transmitted would be perfect, :-)

Well that would all depend on the settings in the unbound.. That is not pfsense.. Contact unbound if you want specific features of their logging..
