Routing between connected subnets
-
Hi everyone,
I configured pfSense with 2 NIC interface , I'm not going to connect internet and I use this firewall for local network. I defined bridge between LAN and WAN interface and this work only for network(subnet) that pfSense's interfaces have IP from, but other network with different range can not pass with firewall , I define rule for different network for pass it , but it doesn't work. the networks can see each other and they may be vlan , but I don't enough information about this.
I want to know I must define vlan in pfSense and then define rule for vlan ? if yes,I must know vlan tag? because I don't have any information about this.
I don't know my mistake, Please help me.
Best Regards -
"I defined bridge between LAN and WAN interface and this work "
Why??? How many networks do you have or want.. Why would you bridge "wan" If it can not get to the internet or other networks then its not a "wan" its just a local network to pfsense.
Why don't you draw up how you want to connect stuff what networks are where and where does pfsense come into play. What do you want to firewall between your devices.. And what is the point of this network exactly if there is no internet??

If VLANed then you need to know the VLAN ID, sure.
May I suggest that you get all informations first and then try to setup something useful. It won't work the other way round. -
Hi,
Thanks for your replay.
I setup a ftp server in local network and I don't want to access the FTP server via internet. in my company we have network with different range of IP .
I defined bridge because if I don't define it , I can't ping my FTP server but define bridge I can access FTP server via client is in same IP range with FTP server, but I can't access FTP server via client with different IP range.
Please help me. you are great.

Love to help you.. For starters I would be a very LARGE sum of money that bridge is NOT what you actually want.. for sure not between a WAN and LAN… Is what you want a transparent firewall on your network??
So lets suggest this again - draw up your network, before pfsense.. And how you want to use pfsense..
if your saying wan is your "internet" then you sure and the F wold not want t bridge between your wan and your lan.. Crab some crayons and a napkin if you need to - but without some understanding of your network and what you want to do there is NO way to help you!!

Why not ask the guys in charge of the company network how to best integrate your FTP server? They should know.
