Kern.ipc.nmbclusters still needed for Intel interfaces?
-
I just did a new install of 2.3.3 (from ISO) and noticed that the mbufs defaulted to 1014528 (without any kern.ipc.nmbclusters line in loader.conf or tunables.) Does this mean that it's no longer required to add 'kern.ipc.nmbclusters="1000000"' into loader.conf for these interfaces? (or does the nmbclusters line do something additional?)
The kernel detects all 4 ports similar to "igb0: <intel(r) 1000="" pro="" network="" connection,="" version="" -="" 2.5.3-k="">"
(The advice for setting nmbclusters is here: https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Tuning_and_Troubleshooting_Network_Cards)
Thanks

If the automatic values are sufficient, you don't need to tune it.
