Is there a difference between "This Firewall" and an firewall aliase containing the gateways [ 192.168.xxx.001 in my case ] for all lan networks?

This firewall is all IPs of the firewall, lan, all opts and even the wan IP, etc.  Kind of zero point to create your own alias unless you don't want to include ALL firewall IPs.

Thanks.  That is the way I assumed it acted, but I was never sure that my assumption was correct.

I've searched for a clear definition but never found it.  Does anyone know were this subject is shown in the documentation?

            https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Firewall_Rule_Basics

This Firewall (self) - Any IP address assigned to any interface on this firewall (pfSense 2.2+)

When on the add/edit tab of the firewall, clicking the little ? in the top right corner takes you to this doc btw.
