Filter bridge with VPN

Can openVPN be used on a set of bridged interfaces to scoop up traffic destined for a remote network? Even if it could I'm assuming I'd need to do something odd like put a WAN pfsense interface on the "LAN" network segment so that it can actually get the traffic to the remote endpoint if the ISP won't give out multiple IP addresses on the WAN network segment (sort of looping VPN traffic through the onhub twice).
