Auto-revert Settings
-
Is there an auto-revert feature that would revert a setting to a previous configuration after a set amount of time (say 30 seconds) if you did not click OK or Save or whatever? It would be helpful in situations that lock you out of the firewall or otherwise cause you to be unable to get back into the firewall.

No, not ATM. There's been a feature request open for ages.

It would be a lot cooler if there was. Thanks for the reply.

You can always revert back the changes from the console or ssh.

ssh is fine if you haven't locked yourself out by adding a new rule(due to ones own stupidity … ).
I generally open an ssh session in advance before making any kind of modification. aslong as you don't kill states you should be fine.console is only realistic if the device isn't halfway across the globe ;)
+1 to move this feature a little higher on the ToDo-list for the future

Then don't lock yourself out ;) that's a network design problem, not a pfSense problem. HA can help, but I'm sure there's a number of other ways to achieve that.

I believe it's human being problem, which can happen with best of us, even with you, at some point. And I believe it's Great idea to add to the Great Product such as pfSense.
