Problem with DHCP and AP
-
Hi,
i have a strange problem with my network.
I have pfSense as router for my small part company. Every working fine and suddenly stop working.pfSense version 2.3.4-p1 running on Hyper-V. I have dedicated VLAN 30 for this network. pfSense is connectet to WAN from my ISP and second port is my LAN 10.10.10.0/24
I configured DHCP Server and every fine working. PC get address and access to internet. Additionaly i connect Access Point ASUS and set up for WiFi. Mobile clients get adrress from DHCP (pfSense). But now i don't know why suddenly stop working on Wifi. I restarted resver and pfSense. When i connect AP to my switch not get dhcp address and clients can't get IP address. Another clients from PC get IP address correct and working normaly. Only AP stop working.
When i set static IP on my AP i can ping AP from my LAN but not from pfSense. I nothing changed in my network infrastructure and i don't know whats happend. For test i try change AP to other i use 3 other devices and any not working. -

What is a resver ?
When i connect AP to my switch not get dhcp address and clients can't get IP address.
Your AP is also asking for an IP using DHCP ?
Knowing that it should be in 'bridge' mode it doesn't even need an IP. It's just bridging the Ethernet communication from radio to wire and the other way around.
Do you see DHCP activity from this AP in your pfSense logs ?Another clients from PC get IP address correct and working normaly. Only AP stop working.
Check AP settings. Maybe it has been reset to some 'defaults'.

Well, 2 choices :
All 3 devices (AP) are broken.
or
All 3 devices (AP) haven't the good setup.Btw : If your IP LAN pfSense is 192.168.1.1 - and your AP has IP 192.168.1.2 (make it static - DNS = 192.168.1.1 - gateway = 192.168.1.1) , and you hook the 2 together then you could "ping" between them. If not => check cable ?

Add 1000 to your vlan (eg 1030, 1031 ….)ca
