Dual IPv6 WANs
-
I'm trying to set up my LAN and OPT1 interfaces to use my DHCP6 WAN that I receive natively down my pppoe link. Also, I have set up an IPv6 in IPv4 tunnel to Hurricane Electric.
I can make all interfaces use the native IPv6 connection and everything works. I can alternatively make all interfaces use the 6in4 tunnel and everything works.
I would like only OPT2 to use the HE tunnel as it's WAN.
Any thoughts on how to accomplish this?
Thanks in advance!

Which connection is OPT2 getting it's addresses from? When you configure it, you can specify whether it uses a tunnel, tracks interface etc.. Beyond that's you'll likely also need a routing rule.

OPT2 is just another LAN in my network. To clarify further, I would like the 6in4 tunnel to address only OPT2. Both the native DHCP6 and the 6in4 tunnel come down the WAN.

The LAN and OPT2 will both require their own IPv6 prefix. You can do this either by using multiple prefixes from your main ISP or from the tunnel, depending on how you configure the interfaces. Once you have addresses on OPT2, pfSense will have to be configured with routing rules to say traffic to/from OPT2 goes through the tunnel. It's basic routing.

Ok. I figured I might have to create some rules and static routes. Just wondering why I couldn't select a different gateway for one particular interface.

That's not the way routers work. You have traffic coming in via the various interfaces and the rules determine where it goes.
