DHCP Static mapping defaults
-
The defaults for several of the options on the add Static Mappings are a bit unclear to me. It would make sense to me that the defaults would match the DHCP settings for this current interface. Some of the texts involved state otherwise or are unclear. It might just be me.
For example, DNS Servers. If I specify those on my DHCP DMZ interface tab, I would expect those to be the default for any added static mappings for DMZ. However the help text there says "Note: leave blank to use the system default DNS servers - this interface's IP if DNS Forwarder or Resolver is enabled, otherwise the servers configured on the General page."
Another would be Domain name. Description says "The default is to use the domain name of this system as the default domain name provided by DHCP".
and so on. And some fields don't say anything at all, like NTP servers.
I'd like static mappings to specify an ip and maybe hostname, and use everything specified on the DCHP tab for this interface as defaults for everything else. Otherwise all those fields must be specified for every static mapping, and worse, each must be manually changed, if, for instance, my DNS server for this interface changes.
