Isolate dhcp requests
-
Hi,
I recently bought a mikrotik switch and it has a guest wifi option im trying out. Set up an interface op pfsense next to my lan/wan interfaces and enabled dhcp on it. On the mikrotik i gave the guest wifi an ip of 192.168.45.253/24 and want to use pfsense for the dhcp requests.
My lan interface is also serving dhcp requests on range 172.36.53.253/24 . Whenever I connect to the guest wifi i get a 50/50 chance of getting an ip from the correct pool (192.168 range).
Is there a way with pfsense to isolate the dhcp for the interfaces
without the use of a vlan ?(i tried vlans, havent got that working yet with mikrotik)Thanks!

Yeah. Use separate VLANs/interfaces. You cant run two DHCP servers on one broadcast domain like that. It also provides zero segmentation/security.
