I am investigating using PFSense in an environment that will have multicast traffic.

I will have host PC's sitting off the OPT1 interface in a private subnet that need to be able to receive multicast udp packets from a server that is on another private subnet off the OPT2 interface.

Will PFSense route this multicast/igmp traffic between these two private subnets?

If it can't I would consider offering a bounty to make sure PFSense does. Please post me your interest.

Thanks

I'm still coming to understand how Multicast traffic and IGMP work so please tell me if the following scenario would work.

Location1      Private WAN              Location2                                    OPT2      OPT1
|Cisco Router|–--------------------->|Cisco Router|-------->|Switch|------->|PFSense|-------->|Switch|------>|Host Server|

If Multicast traffic is coming from Location1 destined for Host Server will PFSense pass the traffic onto the server?

Forgive me for my lack of undestnading of how IGMP and multicast work exactly.
