Random Routing Crash (is it a bug?)
-
I have a pfsense 1.2.2 and I have used 3 interfaces for Users, DMZ and WAN. Randomly all the connections with users that i use 802.1q to separate them into vlans become unavailable and when i try to ping a host in that network i get Destination Host Unreachable… but from console of pfsense I can ping these hosts ... and when I reboot the pfsense the problem will solve ... anyone has an idea about this ? seems more like a bug to me ...

I'm seeing the same thing with RIP. Trying to do some more test.
-
But I don't have any Dynamic Routing … In fact all my networks are connected to pfsense ...
I didn't have this problem when I was using 1.2 release ... -
I have discovered some new events about this … every time this happens I get this error in my system logs :
Jan 28 17:45:38 kernel: vlan3: link state changed to DOWN
Jan 28 17:45:38 kernel: vlan0: link state changed to DOWN
Jan 28 17:45:38 kernel: vlan2: link state changed to DOWN
Jan 28 17:45:38 kernel: vlan1: link state changed to DOWN
Jan 28 17:45:38 kernel: sk0: link state changed to DOWNbut the point is when i go through interfaces they are up and also i said that i can ping hosts in those interfaces from the pfsense box... I have discovered this also ....when I disable and reenable the parent interface : sk0 the problem solves ... yet any idea about this ... ? It's making me crazy :(

This sound an awful lot like a bad NIC.
A similar log from a system with an realtek card:
(I didnt replace the card because it doesnt really matter on this system that there is a temporary linkdown.)Jan 28 05:51:45 kernel: vlan2: link state changed to UP

yes I'm using D-link DGE530T and I have changed it with another one … If the interface is really down why in interfaces menu it says all interfaces are up and also I can ping hosts in those vlans through that NIC in pfsense ?
