Can pfSense do multiple static IPs?
-
My ISP has given me a block of 5 static IPs.
On my old router, I had 2 PCs hooked up. But i could only use 1 static IP because the router had no support for multiple IPs.
I wanted to give 4 IPs to one PC and 1 IP to the other PC.
So I took out the router, and hooked directly to the modem and was able to use TCP/IP properties to give one of the PCs all 5 static IPs. …. but now the other one isn't hooked up :(
Can pfSense do it so I can give 4 IPs to one PC, and 1 IP to the other PC?

Yes.
Use Virtual IP's. -
oh thank u i saw this page when i looked that up, it looks pretty easy. hopefully it is

Yes.
Use Virtual IP's.Then either map them to the internal IP's using 1:1 Nat or forwarding the appropriate ports.
Or if you have enough external IP's you can bridge the WAN to the LAN and assign the IP's directly to the machines themselves yet still keep the packetfilter in pfsense active so it still acts as firewall protecting the devices behind it ;D
Infact i think you can even do that and providing you don't disable the Nat use internal ips as well but i'm not 100% sure on that as i've only done it one way or the other and not tried doing both at the same time.

FYI, I've rearranged the content of my site… The tutorial for setting up virtual IPs has been moved to the following link:
http://www.digitalphotomac.com/PFsense/VirtualIP/virtualip.html
I am not sure how long it will take the bots to re-index the pages so they appear correctly on Google, etc.
I have a range of 16 addresses from my DSL provider. I am currently using five of them through virtual ips (the site runs on one of my servers that's mapped to a virtual address). Works great. I am running this on 1.2.
I set up my PFSense on a Dell PE1650, and I slapped two additional network cards in, so I have a total of 4 ports; wan, lan, dmz and bridged. I haven't put a system on the bridged interface yet, everything runs fine through NAT and virtual ip.
Out of curiosity, are you doing 4 IPs to one PC with 4 NICs, or 4 IPs to one PC with 4 virtual NICs?

any idea where that tutorial might be?

Come on, it's not that hard to find. Start here:
