ESXI VM shutting down by itself
-
Hello.
Woke up this morning and I find my network was not working. After investigating I found my esxi share was down. So I powered the VM up and it all started like normal and then just shut down.
I don't really know where to start looking to fix this.
Hoping somebody can help and give me some ideas. The other vm's on the same server are working fine so it is something to do with the pfsense one.

What do the logs show you, any reason for the shutdown being logged?
Have you maybe put something in cron?
Or installed a UPS addon and it's triggering? -
Do you have any sort of backup software? I have seen this with older versions of Veeam. The VM just powers off, not quite sure why. Never did get to the bottom of it.

The firewall can't do that on its own. Something had to trigger it, most likely the hypervisor sent a shutdown to the VM. Check your hypervisor logs.
