Pkg-Static causes 100% CPU utilization

Hi all

I have been using pfSense for a while without any issues. However today the system died on me and I had to reset it.

After the reset, I noticed that my CPU utilization was unusually high. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the command "pkg-static update -f" is causing constant 100% utilization of one of the CPU cores:

Disabling the Dashboard auto-update check as well as numerous reboots have not been able to change this.

Interestingly enough, after about 15 mins at 100% utilization, the process is no longer running and CPU utilization now back to normal

I still find it a bit strange the the update process would fully utilize the CPU for such a long time

Anyone else had similar experience?

This is absolutely ridiculous!

It's October 2019 and still happening to me right now!
