pfSense 2.4.4 and Twitch Issues
-
Initially, My 2.4.3 -> 2.4.4 upgrade failed. Only real noticeable issue is that twitch.tv streams constantly error out with error 1000/2000. Backup the config, Re-install 2.4.4 over top the previous installation and import the config. Issue still exists.
After all this expiring, I decided to upgrade my drives in my server so I backed up my VM's took down the box to replace the RAID controller and drives.
In the interim, I put my old DIR-825 with OpenWRT for the WAN connection and Twitch (and other things) started acting much more smooth.
Moved the Virtual Machines back, Change back to PFSense VM for my Gateway and issue still exists.
Decided to build a completely fresh Virtual Machine with a freshly downloaded 2.4.4 iso. Issue still persists.
I did not (in my infinite wisdom) backup my old ISO images from the old disks so i do not have a 2.4.3 image to verify if that works.

PFSense Virtual MachineLooking for the next logical step in troubleshooting this issue since i have ruled out my own PC and ISP connection. I do not have an alternative box (that is not overpowered) that can be used as a Physical installation for testing.

Grimson, Thank you for the link!
Unfortunately, None of these changes made the problem any better.
Only the streams have issues, not chat or browsing the website.

Do you know what error 1000/2000 indicates? I've never looked at twitch.

it seems a Twitch cookie issue

It not related to your pfsense router.

Unfortunately, if I do not use PFSense, my issue is 100% resolved. I have also loaded up an OPNSense instance without issues. Home router with no issues. As soon as I switch back to PFSense, Twitch goes haywire. As I previously stated, it only happened with 2.4.4.

Also, the link provided mentions the streams coming back. I have to refresh up to 10 times to get a stream back for it to fail some random time in the future.

This happens on a clean pfSense install, no packages installed?
Do you see anything blocked in the system log?
Any entries in the system log?

I do not see anything that stands out in the logs. I will put it back in place tomorrow after work and verify timestamps where Twitch acts up and the logs.

@ArtikTundra any luck solving this issue. I'm having much the same problem with twitch. Upgraded to pfSense from 2.4.3 to 2.4.4. Everything worked fine with the previous version, now twitch only half works (chat works, no video)

On 2.4.4 here and Twitch works fine.
