WHAT is the OS exactly? Windows 7, windows XP?

Unless the disk was actually encrypted its childs play to access the files.. Or even just reset their password via windows..

But this is really outside what is normally discussed here - you be better off on a windows forum..

Call him/her for asking the password,or log into another acount (MS or Super Account ,Guest Account).
And as for the other ways, using reset disk to remove the password for the locked cmputer.

They sell them for like 20$ to make it easy to read drives.. They really are a must have sort of tool for shop. You can read whatever is on that disk... Unless the drive or data was actually encrypted the OS only keeps someone from logging into the OS.. Doesn't stop physical access to the data on the drive.

Something like this

If the drive was actually encrypted or data was then your more than likely SOL.
