<![CDATA[Installing an SSD in 4860 1U]]>I have a 4860 1U and wish to install an SSD. I see the power cable, and the SATA header, but I do not see how I can install the SSD as there is no place to install it. There is room but no holder. Do I need to buy a special housing to install the SSD?

I've not seen any issues with the velcro fastenings I've used but whilst they are in rack-mount boxes they are not actually rack mounted, they do not run hot.

I wouldn't trust velcro long term with the kind of heat you see inside a server rack case, but that's more of a personal preference.

There may well be some of the brackets remaining it would be worth emailing sales to ask if you're interested.

However I can also vouch for adhesive velcro pads. I've used them in a number of systems I was missing mounting hardware for.

I know I can use an mSATA, but have extra SSDs and thought I could save $$$ by using them. Am I to understand that SSDs are not supported, and if so, why are there power cables and SATA headers (curiosity is killing me)?
