Can't update 2.4.4p2 - doesn't seem to exist? (SOLVED)
-
I noticed today that 2.4.4p2 is available when I logged into my router. I found when I tried to install the update it seems to fail being unable to download the files.

I don't think its my connection, I was able to go to Packages and update OpenVPN to the newest version without any difficulty and I seem to have fully working internet access on my network. I've tried rebooting pfSense, disabling IPv6 (my ISP doesn't support it anyway), turning off DNS SSL (I specified DNS servers 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8), even turned off Squid proxy for good measure.
I have to agree, it looks like https://pkg.pfsense.org/pfSense_v2_4_4_amd64-core/All/pfSense-kernel-pfSense-2.4.4_2.txz does not exist when I go to it on my computer...or even on a cellphone (thru Verizon Wireless, a different ISP and device completely).
At this point I figured I would just download the newest version and do an install from USB media...but when I went to https://www.pfsense.org/download it seems to suggest 2.4.4p1 is the newest, I can't find any reference to 2.4.4p2 downloads even though it appears to have been released almost 2 weeks ago and my status shows update available.
Anyone know what's going on?

Exactly the same hare, on 3 different installations on different providers:
Fetching pfSense-kernel-pfSense-2.4.4_2.txz: . done pkg-static: https://pkg.pfsense.org/pfSense_v2_4_4_amd64-core/All/pfSense-kernel-pfSense-2.4.4_2.txz: Operation timed out Failed)
It seems to be a DNS issue:

Any update on this? It seems like the update system is down.

Hello:
https://www.netgate.com/docs/pfsense/install/upgrade-troubleshooting.html#pkg-pfsense-org-has-no-a-aaaa-record
After taking a backup, I would review the suggested steps in the "update troubleshooting" area:
https://www.netgate.com/blog/pfsense-2-4-4-release-p2-now-available.html -
@chrismacmahon Even without A/AAAA records there are issues with the update/packages server today anyway.
