I have pfsense 2.4.4-RELEASE-p2. HAproxy version 0.59_16. I am trying to get the logs but neither remote syslog nor logging to /var/run/log.
I have tried to reinstall the package and the only thing that changes is the timestamp of the file in /var/run/log but it stays blank. Can anyone please advise.

Try these settings?:

Remote syslog host: /var/run/log
Syslog facility: local0
Syslog level: Informational
Log hostname: <leave this field empty>

And your looking under the menu "Status/Package Logs/haproxy" ?
Even a simple restart of haproxy should show up that the frontends are getting started.
