Port Forwarding for Remote ESXi GUI Access
-
Good Morning Everyone,
You guys have been most helpful in the past hoping that someone can assist again. I am trying to gain remote access to my ESXi box running on my Dell R710 from outside my home. I am still very new to FW rules and PFSense in general so please be gentle. =)

Create a VPN don't port forward.

I have no idea why you would deliberately make your post harder to read by wrapping it in a tag that makes us have to use the scroll bars just to read the whole thing...
As Nogbad suggested, accessing the ESXI gui via VPN is far better than hanging it out in public. However, if you must do it that way then a port forward is the way to go. You can even lock it down via firewall rules so that only Source addresses you specify can access it.
ESXI uses a web interface so you need a port forward for tcp443. Lots of videos on how to do it:

@KOM I have no idea why it posted like that since I didn't choose to do that. =( The main reason for this is that I am not able to install any software on my work laptop so I need to be able to get to it via Web interface.

Fair enough. I even tried to duplicate what you did without success, so maybe you have discovered a secret tag haha.
Yes, if you're unable to install OpenVPN client then a port forward is your only option.

Fixed the post - if you tab before your text it does that. Should be easier to read now ;)
If your going to port forward, I would lock it down to your work IP.
