pfBlockerNG and squid
-
Good day
Can i install pfblockerng and all full squid package like squidguard ,Lightsquid At the same time
Or it is not recommended to install on the same server. -
Hi,
Like putting 40 persons in a car ?
Yes, of course.
As long as the car is of the 'bus' type.It would be a tight situation if your pfSense device was a SG-1000.
Or is it this 32 GB/raid 0 SSD/latest I9 core with Gb NIC ?Btw : the 'server' is your firewall / router (pfSense), right ?

squid is typically a service that should run on a dedicated device / VM.
( I even think the latest squid package isn't worth trying ...) -
Check these threads: https://forum.netgate.com/topic/147108/pfblocker-dnsbl-not-working/7 - People recommended to stick to one of them only, not using both together.
Optional:
https://forum.netgate.com/post/879117 <- a few problems were raised when I tried to help one of the forum users to use them both, maybe will help to understand the problem. -
The two packages do different things, there's no reason you cannot run both as long as the hardware will support it. Both can use significant ram.
