USB 4G dongle not recognized fast enough on boot
-
I have a Huawei E3372h USB dongle installed on Checkpoint T-140 working perfectly with pfSense 2.4.4-p3.
I have installed shellcmd and set 'usb_modeswitch -v 12d1 -p 1f01 -c /usr/local/share/usb_modeswitch/12d1:1f01' .
But when the system boots after power down, boot hangs because the device is not 100% ready yet (?), and system is confused and asks again for vlan setup and interface assignments. Unfortunately, I can not access the system at that point without console and reassign my 2-3 interfaces.
Are there any workarounds, except buying an ethernet 4G modem?
Thank you.

You can also try adding
kern.cam.boot_delay=10000
to /boot/loader.conf.local if it is not already in loader.conf.Steve

@AndrewZ Thank you, changing util.inc sounds like a solution, at least for the rare cases of power failure.
