Temperature sensor : Intel NIC
-
It seems my NIC x550-t2 has a temperature sensor, is there a way to make the OS recognize it ?
-
I've never seen that reported from an Intel NIC but if it was I'd expect it to be in the sysctls.
Are you seeing that in the specs? Under Linux?

Yes i was looking at the x550 datasheet and even my cheap asus card has one (aquantia) so I guess there must be one for security in case of overheating ?
-
Hmm, looking at the driver there are references to thermal sensors for several chipsets but I can't see how you might go about reading it.

now idea maybe I should ask the question on freebsd forum

Yep, that's probably a good idea.
If it can be read I doubt it would be that hard to display it.
