WAN2 No Access, Rule Created, Can't Ping Out From Diagnostics
-
Okay, so I'm trying the multiwan thing…
The problem is that once I've setup my second WAN or OPT2, I can ping the host that it uses as it's gateway, but I can't ping anything beyond that. I've double checked, just by plugging a computer in to make sure it's not an ISP problem, and I can surf fine. So I know the gateway is working fine.
My configuration is:
Wan 1 (provider 1) --|___ pfSense
Wan 2 (provider 2) -All traffic on Wan1 is working great.
I've created a rule on the WAN2 interface, but that fact that I can't ping from the diagnostics, has me second guessing if I've done it right. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated...
Rule:
Action: PASS
Interface: WAN2
Protocol: Any
Source: Any
Destination: Any
Gateway: IP of Wan2 GatewayShould I be able to ping from the diagnostic screen by selecting WAN2, and entering an IP address like normal? I'm guessing it's something simple, but I'm beating my brains out trying to figure it out. I just can't figure out why I can ping it's Gateway, but nothing beyond that...
Thanks in advance for your help...

Reread the ping-diagnostic page.
Note: Multi-wan is not supported from this utility currently.
Also creating a rule on the WAN2 interface will do nothing.
Reread the documentation on how firewall rules on pfSense work. -
If you're not going to contribute anything more than being condescending to people, why waste your energy.
Re-read the documentation…. Could someone at least point me in the right direction of the documentation. I can't even manage to find that... You know, what makes projects successful is people being willing to help... I've read non-stop everything I can find about multi-wan and the firewall rules. If I haven't gotten it by now, I'm probably just going to miss it again...
But hey, thanks for your contribution, it really made my day....

Huiii, a bit sensitive today.
This forum provides an excellent search function.
http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?action=searchAlso there are stickies which explain the most basic stuff and link to the documentation.
http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,7001.0.htmlAlso on the mainpage of the pfSense there are the links to the documentation:
http://doc.pfsense.org
http://faq.pfsense.orgThere are some good tutorials…
http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/TutorialsWhat do you expect?
Do you think people are not getting a bit brusque if the same questions are asked over and over and over again?
You should read this: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html and then find out what in your original post was wrong, that you got such an answer. (Also my post wasnt intended condescending, but that's explained in this link as well ;) )
(Although i have to say to your credit, that you provided a diagram which is waaaay more than most people bother with :D )
