How to block YouTube access from 1 client.
-
I created aliases using "DNS Lookup" for www_youtube_com and youtube_com.
Then I added the rule as seen in the picture. Changes were applied. Also reseted states.
But I'm still able to access youtube from 192.168.1.15.What am I doing wrong? Why isn't youtube being blocked?

@lmannyr It's generally been considered very difficult to block or reject the major internet players, since they have CDN servers that spread their content across the globe. It is difficult to track down and keep track of these servers by IP addresses. Long story short, this might not work anyway...
So, keeping that in mind, I believe you made the wrong choice in the dropdown for Type -> Network(s). I believe you want to use Type -> Host(s). Give that a try and see what happens. You might have to retype your IP list, but I'm not too sure.

Here is a video that describes using pfblocker that uses DNS for blocking.

But the same video (around 5:40 mark) also states that Google Chrome/Android proxies its own DNS server over Google protocols so there may not be a fail safe mechanism to block YouTube.
Good luck and please share if you find a mechanism to block YT.
