I have an OpenVPN set up and working, has been working for some time. Only recently though I noticed the DNS isn't resolving correctly.

I can ping via IP without issue and I can ping or nslookup when I use the FQDN made up of the hostname+domain name. But when only using the hostname it fails to resolve.

Example;

type - nslookup computer fails
type - nslookup computer.domain.local works fine.

The DNS is an internal server and I have DNS forwarding configured to point to the internal server but still no luck.

Can anyone help me out with this? I am hoping it's a simple tickbox somewhere I have missed.

Thanks in advance. I appreciate any help.
