      There are LOTS of package updates today. Is it safe to update these on 2.4.5p1? Or is this in preparation for a 2.5.0 release?

      I got bit by this in the past when I updated my packages only to find out that I shouldn't have because they are for the next release.

      Advice appreciated.

        @revengineer Same here.
        Don't update, it looks like Package Manager has some issue.

            There are 83 package updates on the latest 2.5 snapshot that showed up today.

            I updated several packages on my 2.4.5 box here this morning and everything is fine.

                  @johnpoz I am still on 2.4.5_p1
                  So if I update Traffic Totals, then I will have to patch it again as per https://forum.netgate.com/topic/151914/traffic-totals-hourly-report-problem?

                    If they had not applied the patch the package, then yeah you prob need to repatch.. Looking at that issue now.. I normally would just look at monthly and haven't noticed any issues. But I recently reset all my data.. Because was having an issue with any graphs display..

                    There was a shit ton of data going back years.. Which I for sure didn't need.. So I had reset them... But can take a look at that issue and apply the patch..

                      @johnpoz Traffic totals version 2.3.2 is in pfsense-2.5 snapshot.
                      With pfsense 2.4.5_p1 Traffic Totals goes from 2.3.1 -> 2.3.1_1

                        Yeah the _1 is just the copyright change..

                        So I just manually applied the changes in that thread you linked too and the diff in the redmine, You have to manually apply those - they have not been changed in the actual package yet.

                        Im on 2.4.5p1

                          So in short - it's OK to upgrade all packages ?

                          Thx

                          (Better to ask then be sorry :) )

                            I updated all of mine that showed it - not all did. There were quite a few, I did not notice any issues. You can normally click the package version link in the package manager and it will take you where you can see what was changed. The few I clicked on only showed the copyright date change.

                            The good thing that came out of it - atleast for me, was I was unaware of the issue with the total traffic package ;) which I have edited the php file and all looks good sofar, even though I did reset my data again :( heheh but that seems to have cleared up the hourly graph nicely..

                            thanks @RonpfS for mentioning that ;)

                              I disabled pfblockerNG to prevent DNS/IP blocking.
                              I disabled Traffic Totals graphing.

                              I updated all packages, everything went smooth.
                              I applied the patch for Traffic Totals, enabled graphing, date was reset as expected.

                                      @johnpoz Probably because of the linked folder

                                      ls -al /usr/local/www/bandwidthd
                                      lrwxr-xr-x  1 root  wheel  28 Jan  8 16:39 /usr/local/www/bandwidthd -> /usr/local/bandwidthd/htdocs

                                            I used the 'Reinstall all packages' button from Diag > Backup & Restore for this on the my edge box. No problems I noted.
