      is there a list of changes for this build? so far upgrading to the new version of pfsense on a 3100 has been pretty dull. other than wireguard i see minimal to no benefits in upgrading.

          @johnpoz can we get snort 3 in 2021. multi-threading is a must.

            I have nothing to do with what gets added, changed or deleted in pfsense ;)

            If there not one already you can for sure put in a feature request for whatever you want.

            edit:
            BTW - I edited your subject.. There is no such thing yet as 21.05, unless you want to know what is new in the development release ;) If you don't like the way I edited it.. Please let me know.

            edit2: As to when/if snort 3 might come to pfsense. You might want to ask in the ips/ids section. @bmeeks would be able to tell you if that is something that is on his roadmap for 2021 or if there is any sort of roadblocks to it, etc..

              I just replied in a separate thread the poster created in the IDS/IPS forum.

              Snort3 is a no-go for me. I tried and failed and became completely disgusted with it last year. Converting the current package is a nightmare. I, personally, am not inclined at all to work on a Snort3 package. Others are welcome to try, though.

              If a multithread IDS is a must-have, then use Suricata as it is multithreaded.

                Yeah that sure seems like a roadblock then ;) hehehehe
