OPT problem
-
Hi everyone.
I also have the problem with the opt port not browsing the internet, it works instead connecting to the realvnc viewer. The firewall has the any - any rule that I find in many guides, but it doesn't go...
Any idea?
Thanks -
I assume you mean a client in the OPT1 subnet connected to that interfaces is unable to connect to external websites?
Is that client using DHCP? From pfSense?
Can it resolve IPs, is DNS working?
Can it ping out to external sites? Say 8.8.8.8 or google.com?
Where can it connect to with RealVNC?

Ah!!! thank you very much, I found that in Services - DNS resolver - General setting - Network interfaces only LAN and localhost was selected.
Thanks a lots. -

Ah!!!
You just discovered why the default :
isn't that bad.
There will be no DNS requests coming from 'the outside' = your WAN type interfaces, and normally, you want your LAN's to be served by the resolver as soon as they get created.
