Alix board just died, what next (and what intel nic)?
-
Well, my alix board (alix2c3) of 7 months has decided that it can no longer see any microdrives or cf cards (yay :( ). After contemplating the cost of purchasing a new board (I had purchased my board on the forums used), I realized that for the same cost, I could purchase an atom system, use vlans with my switch (procurve ftw) to negate the need for more than one ethernet port, and purchase a mini-pci to pci adapter for my current wireless card http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.9307.
The top of my list is a foxconn:

simply because its just so cheap.Any other recommendations or thoughts/suggestions/problems that you think I might run into? (and yes, I know the adapter will require some pci cover hacking)
Thanks in advance!

After much debate, I think I've decided on this Jetway:

due to the inclusion of the ide header (thus the ability to use either my current microdrive or old laptop drive), as well as two full size PCI slots. This means I can put in both an Intel NIC and the mini-pci card via adapter with ease. So, does anyone see any problems with this setup?
Finally, which intel NIC would you recommend (Am I correct in assuming that they all support vlans)? I would imagine 10/100 is plenty fast, even with squid, and its just going to be for home use.

After much more silent debate ;) I realized that for 10 dollars more, I can buy the case separately:

And then just pick up the cheapest intel atom motheboard instead:

Alongside this NIC:
