What I am trying to do is not waste my time waiting for a download over a small bandwidth connection.

I would like to preload / download the upgrade package... which could take some time...

Once downloaded, then I can come back and upgrade...

Similar to TrueNAS in how they allow you to download the upgrade... then later come back at a convenient time to actually do the upgrade...

Can a preload be done ?

Thanks.

But if you want to run something like that, you can just evoke a
pfSense-upgrade -y
command via cron at a time to your liking.

Personally I'd rather prefer a good monitoring that checks, if there are updates/upgrades available and gets me a dashboard of "ToDo" so we can run the updates in communicated update-windows that are cleared with customers and not at 3am in the morning, failing and leaving a box stranded without internet and having a supporter drive there to revive it. :)

Cheers

I'm assuming the goal is to do it at 3am or some down time. I would want to see it, myself...if something did go wrong, it could get fixed then and not wait until 8am.
