      After the upgrade fron 2.7.0 (dev) to 23.01 plus , everything works fine, except for the message saying there is a new update, which remains constantly present, and when i go to the update list, there is nothing. And most importantly of all , i can NOT installed any Package and a message appears to me that it must be updated first!! restore and restart did not fix it .

        @hornetbad IIRC from recent comments 2.7 is on PHP 8.2 and 23.01 PHP 8.1. Can you upgrade from 2.6 forward?

        Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. If yours is older, select it in System/Update/Update Settings.
        When upgrading, let it finish. Allow 10-15 minutes, or more depending on packages and device speed.

          @steveits No, I can't because my computer has i226 nic's so I have to install 2.7 in order for it to recognize i226-v nic's
          By chance today I found that I can update directly to 23.01 and I did! This is what I am facing now.

          I wish if you provide us with a download link for "23.01 iso" so that we can install it directly and not face such problems

                @hornetbad read the comment here: PHP bad time

                Cleanest solution seems to be to download the 2.7 installer from Feb 15th. Install and restore your config. The you should be able to go directly to 23.01 without the PHP issue.

                good luck.

                        @cappie I have tired following the reinstall of 2.7.0 Feb 15th. When I try to upgrade to 23.01 I get Unable to check for updates

                          @wolf07 sometimes a quick reboot will fix that. Or from System -> Updates select the previous version, wait a bit then select the latest stable version, wait for the refresh to happen in the background and you should be able to update.

                          If neither option works then try the fixes here: Troubleshooting Upgrades

                            @wolf07 try again tomorrow.
                            Do try Upgrade from Console... If you geht the message about certificate it's not your fault.
                            Have had that the last days but today morning it was gone.
