I have recently installed pfsense 2.6.0-release on an old pc. It seemed to be running fine but I then realized that it crashes every couple of hours and I'm not sure why.
I had used pfsense before in a VM for a few years just fine on the same pc but I have decided to dedicate that pc just to pfsense now.
When it crashes it will restart itself most of the time but sometimes it will hang and I will need to reboot the pc manually.
Also after it crashes, I can use the connected keyboard but the console is unresponsive (as in I can't tell pfsense do to anything but I can see what I type).

I have decided to try reinstalling pfsense on ZFS instead of UFS. I backed up all my configs first, did a clean install with 1 striped disk and set zfs copies=2. It hasn't been long since I restored everything but pfsense has been running for 16 hours now without any crashes so it's looking promising so far.

I will post another update with how it's running after a few days or when it crashes again.
