<![CDATA[Unable to configure new interface!]]>Hi,

This is probably per design, but it is impractical for my use case.

I have set up a new interface, given it an IP etc and do not want to enable it before I have set up all the rest, ie DHCP and firewall rules. Problem being, it won't show up there unless I enable it...

Can I do something about this, or is this the way it is basically?

When you add a new interface there are no rules. so any client on that network - even if static pointing to pfsense as its gateway or dns, or trying to talk to some other dns or anything on the internet wouldn't get anywhere.

So other than a device getting an ip from dhcp when you enable that. Devices on this network wouldn't be able to go anywhere until you create rules to allow something.

Why do you want to keep it disabled?
