After I did it will not allow me to enter the bios the change the date.
On booting it flags the date error and tells me to press F2 to enter bios.
However, it does not respond to F2 nor will it let me enter the bios.
Before the battery change I had installed Pfsense (version 2.6.0) without issue.
Everything was working fine until I changed the battery.
I did install the correct type of battery.
Thanks.

If you're using something like PuTTY, make sure that under settings Terminal > Keyboard you set the function keys to Xterm R6. Other terminal applications may have similar settings. If that particular setting doesn't work, try another one, or try a different application to access the console.

You might also be able to plug in a USB keyboard and press F2 on that.
