Multi-WAN setup question

Hello folks
Don't laugh if this is very naive. I have a faithful pfsense PC working for last 2 years at home. DSL @Home is sometimes flaky and so I talked to my neighbors who don't mind my wireless dd-wrt to hook to theirs as repeater. I have three such internet SSID now in addition to one of mine.I am wondering if its possible to marry all of them (or some of them) into a failover/loadbalance wan set up. If the repeater could be near the pfsense box, it would no problem but for reasons of signal, these repeaters are at three ends of the home. They are all near an ethernet outlet and so they can all be put on the same network.
I made a picture too but not sure if this is feasible. Please help. Picture is attached…
Many thanks
Anil

Yes it's possible. Please don't hijack threads, when you have a new topic, start a new thread.

I split this into a new thread for you, I deleted the duplicate.

I've often mused about taking advantage of the half dozen or so unsecured APs that are reachable in my apartment building. Seems like someone with a handful of cheapo wireless ethernet bridges + pfsense box + loadbalancing could wind up with more bandwidth and a somewhat fault tolerant solution. I say somewhat fault tolerant because I'm quite sure that all of these links are ultimately connected to the same ISP (Optimum Online). On a good day with the wind at my back, I can get about 12megabits downstream on my single link. Hmmmm…

what you should do is log onto the open access points and throttle their bandwidth that way you would get the majority of the shared bandwidth from your ISP ;D
just kidding. that would be illegal.

I think accessing (even if unsecured) access point would be illegal in most countries although difficult to enforce.
I am fortunate that in my area AT&T and Comcast are two dominant broadband providers and one of my neighbor is running sprint EVDO and the next house has a T1; but Silicon Valley is bit unique in itself. -

Will something like this work and be secure too?

There was a pledge to program this feature so it would work well. It's obviously very difficult to do, as no open source firewall can support dual wan with many capacities - it created problems for load balancing, distributed downloading, secure sites blocking connection when detecting multiple IP's, etc. I believe only some sizable pledge by many people to create a larger project would ever get this done… perhaps as a part of some other larger project, such as OpenVPN, or IPTables, would be the way to get this done for once and all...
