<p dir="auto">I'm facing an issue when UEFI PXE boot using FOG it's not working with kea DHCP but the legacy boot works fine. However when I change the DHCP to ISC DHCP UEFI PXE boot works.</p>
<p dir="auto">Is there there a fix for this issue?</p>

<p dir="auto">This is good enough. Hopefully, Kea will be ready by this time.</p>

<p dir="auto">Of course it will be removed in the future <img src="https://forum.netgate.com/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f60a.png?v=717669fab53" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji--blush" style="height:23px;width:auto;vertical-align:middle" title="" alt="😊" /></p>
<p dir="auto">As it isn't maintained anymore<br />
and<br />
If someone finds a huge security issue<br />
and<br />
Maintainers (ISC DHCP) will not addresses the issue as "hey, a better one without issues is available(KEA)"<br />
and<br />
Netgate (pfSEnse) can't/will not address the issue<br />
and<br />
[more, for me unknown conditions, you pick one or more]<br />
then<br />
Yes, dhcpd will get removed.</p>
<p dir="auto">My estimation : 2028 ? Or 2029 ... I'm not sure.</p>
<p dir="auto">Keep in mind : the initial dnsforwader "dnsmasq", present during the early days of pfSense is still there.<br />
Then came unbound, the resolver, but dnsmasq never left, it's still avaible for the hard core forwarders.</p>

<p dir="auto">Read <a href="https://www.netgate.com/blog/netgate-adds-kea-dhcp-to-pfsense-plus-software-version-23.09-1" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">Netgate Adds Kea DHCP to pfSense Plus Software Version 23.09</a></p>
<p dir="auto">If you're all fine with what's been said over there, you can use kea.<br />
In your case : use ISC DHCP <img src="https://forum.netgate.com/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f60a.png?v=717669fab53" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji--blush" style="height:23px;width:auto;vertical-align:middle" title="" alt="😊" /></p>
