<![CDATA[Recommendation for Access Point]]>Hi guys!
I thought things would be quiet for a while after the last project with a managed switch...
On previous posts I have stated that I have two main networks....Company and Private...
I have an access point for each of them.....
TP-Link EAP245 AC 1700...
I was setting up a new computer for a customer and my Company Wifi didn't show up and when I checked the ceiling above me there is no led working....
I checked when I bouught these Access Points....4 years.... the Private one is still working fine....
bit annoyed with only 4 years....
I need a replacement for this Access Point and would like some recommendations....

If you have 2 APs, they can both carry both. That's the benefit of VLANs.

OK Thanks for that...
I would create a vlan and second SSID if my other Acess point was better placed....
I always had the intention to have two, so that I placed the second where it would be best for my Private network....of course I can connect to it all over my flat....just not as good as having the second one above my head in my office😁

Ubiquiti Unifi APs are popular with some here. I have the AC-Lite. If you have a managed switch, you don't need 2 access points, you use VLANs and a 2nd SSID. For example I have a guest WiFi, which connects via VLAN while my main LAN is native LAN.

BTW, be careful with TP Link gear. Some models don't handle VLANs properly. I had a TP-Link access point and found IPv6 multicasts leaked from my main LAN to the VLAN, which meant I couldn't use IPv6 on the guest WiFi.
