      Hi guys,

Quick question regarding restoring virtualized Pfsense to actual Netgate appliance.

I’ve been using VM setup for years and it generally worked but sometimes in the past I had few times when my setup crapped out. This time my Intel NIC is giving me trouble with dedicated WAN port. I run business from home, so, I decided to move on to real hardware.

So, my main question is. Can I restore latest backup to 8200 appliance? Will it corrupt anything on the new unit? I had only 2 interfaces before WAN and LAN to L3 switch.

I mean I can reconfigure it from scratch, but I have tons of VPN setups there.
      TIA.👍

Yes you can restore an existing config into it. You will just need to re-assign the WAN and LAN to interfaces on the 8200 before rebooting into the config.

Or you can edit the config and reassign them manually in advance. Or if you open a TAC ticket we can convert the config for you so it imports without having to do anything.
