I tried 25.07 and 25.07.1 pfsense plus reinstall on Netgate 6100 without success.
Error was "cannot connect to netgate servers".

Fortunately, I had to the 23.09 offline image stick somewhere, and went with this old version.
I had to apply 23.09.1, then 23.11, then 25.07.1 upgrade afterwards, and then restore 25.07.1 config.

Hope you can improve the netgate server detection part, or add back an offline option.

I have changed of ISP, and now I'm sure 100% there are no issues on this part.
Internet connectivity was fine before the reinstallation, and I could check netgate forums, and pfsense-installer dhcp client has been detected by the ISP box during the installation.

      Thank you for your work.

@yellowRain kind of hard to suggest anything without details…did you get a public IP via DHCP?

Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to reboot, or more depending on packages, CPU, and/or disk speed.

@SteveITS I solved my issue, but as is the usb installer is useless in its latest versions.
This (these) pfsense boxe(s) will never see a public ipv4.
          I'm behind ISP boxes.
On the contrary, these pfsense boxes can get a public ipv6 without issue, I changed of ISP for that reason.

Hopefully I could optimize my zfs parition scheme with the awkward looking, but still working 23.09 installer.

Mmm, you don't need a public IP on the installer. As long as the WAN subnet doesn't conflcit with the LAN it should work.

If the installer fails like that you can drop to the command line and try to connect out (ping ews.netgate.com) with the configured network settings to troubleshoot.

FWIW I didn’t mean one was required. With no details we’re left just guessing. I think OP just wanted to vent, tbh, so I gave up.

Yeah, I ran into the same issue. Super annoying that the new installer won’t work offline anymore. Glad you found a workaround though!
