At the second site, I've tried to install the package, it went fine. I added the two lines in loader.conf.local and rebooted, LAN was not reachable. I had to remove the two lines in locader.conf.local and reboot to have access to the LAN again. I also tried to add the lines to loader.conf, same results.
Any suggestions as to what happened?

Was there anything logged at boot? What NIC(s) does that device have exactly?

Was that site also showing the Realtek watchdog errors sing the standard driver?

@stephenw10 I kept a copy of dmesg output before I rebooted it. I'll try to paste it here... Yes, both sites have showed the watchdog error before blocking all traffic to the LAN NIC.

Hmm, nothing obvious there then. Both NICs link UP OK using both drivers.

I would disable the on-board audio hardware since that only consuming resources but it's unlikely to be causing this.

Anything in the system log after boot when using the alternative driver?

@stephenw10 I tried to look into system.log, but since we rebooted many times, I'm not sure what to look for. The log is rather long for this morning.

Just stating the obvious that the wg0 flaps immediately precede and immediately follow the multiple Realtek NIC flaps.

@GTA_doum Is the Wireguard package installed on the system at the first site?

@tinfoilmatt Tes, both sites have WireGuard installed. It is used occasionaly by users being outside of the office.

So what exactly failed after enabling the new driver? DHCP fails for LAN clients?
