Slow loading of the dashboard
-
I'm using version 2.8.1 CE.
However, for the past few weeks I've noticed a certain slowness in loading the Dashboard screen. I even tested it locally and it still persists.
Is anyone else experiencing this slow loading time?

@danilorocha64 only time I have seen extended time to load the dashboard, is when pfsense is having issues with dns. If dns is not working - then yeah the dashboard can take some time to load.

What is slow ?
I removed all Widgets, and just kept the "System Information" and nothing else :
and now, when hitting :

it took 1 second (maybe 1,5 seconds) to show the man dashboard page.
With my "15" widgets open, it takes about 4 seconds for the dashboard page to show up.
I use a "Netgate 4100" with 25.07.1.
True, that's not instantly. When making the dashboard page, some info is taken from cache file, other info is collect freshly, just for you. I am actually thinking : that's a huge pile of scripting to collect all the date to create that page.
Actually, any other page, from every other menu show up nearly instantly, with some exceptions, like the pfBlockerng reporting pages, as huge log file have to be parsed to produce a result.Faster dashboard page access is possible : use a system with the latest Intel CPU, no VM - and no devices using all the NIC, as pfSense is also a router, so it is also busy handling traffic, and I wouldn't want the internet access to stall as I, the admin, opens the dashboard page.

Resolved ,I unchecked the following option: DNS Server Override

Now, it's working 100 %
Thanks !

@danilorocha64 yeah I wouldn't ever have that checked ;)
Also are you forwarding, normally you would want to use just local and not remote on that behavior - unless you wanted to get rid of the ::1 entry and set 127.0.0..1 as a "remote" ;)

My primary dashboard here is 4 columns with 9 boxes total.
16 seconds from the time I click my mouse till it loads. Its done that for a while.
A few other "boxes" I have around take almost as long.
A local radio station I set up with 3 rows and 10 boxes takes a second. always has for over ten years.
Another site went away. So no testing that one..
Site with the same ISP I use here.. same dash setup.. one second. DNS Server Override checked.
Another local site that was at 14 seconds just got fixed by unchecking that box.. not sure when it got checked.. But my primary here remains stubborn.. and it did not bug me enough to worry to much. But now Im on a mission.. ;)
